Assumptions

Many people will hear the words "Make-Up Artist" and automatically assume we will pack on your foundation so you can't move your face, or cover your eyelids with an intense shade of hot pink or electric blue...this is only the case if our client asks for it of course!

You may have used the question, "Why hire a make-up artist when all they will do is make me look like a clown, or worse yet, a whore?" I just want to personally vouch for myself... I will never make you over to the point where you do not recognize the person staring back at you in the mirror. My style and approach has always been to enhance the beauty you already portray. I will spend a good majority of a session perfecting your skin tone and covering any small imperfections such as redness or dark circles. I aim to bring out your best qualities. If you love your eyes I will take care to make them appear bigger, brighter and that much more beautiful. If you love your lips I will help you pick a color of lipstick and/or gloss that best suits the look you are trying to achieve.

A good thing to remember about make-up is that it isn't permanent!

Start out on the light side and increase the intensity to your liking. It is always easier to add then take away. That being said, you are still able to "wash off" anything you don't like and start over.

I will never get used to the feeling of finishing a clients make-up, asking them to take a look in the mirror, watch them walk to a bathroom to find a mirror and hear a happy/surprised comment shouted back to me such as "oh my god, I love it!" or "wow, I look hot!". Little does my client know, that is exactly what I am aiming for and it makes me smile from ear to ear. The most important thing I can do as a make-up artist is make my client feel their absolute best. Not by caking on their foundation, eye shadow and lipstick. If you look through photos of my work you can see right away that it is on the natural side. Less is more method. I am fully capable of giving you and intense smokey eye, or a deep red lip with high gloss for a dramatic pop but will not do any of this unless asked to do so. In a lot of cases a client will say "I trust you", or "do whatever you want" (to clarify I am talking about doing their make-up, not to be taken in a Fifty Shades of Grey sort of way) Blushes. Many return clients will say these things and that just tells me that they know my style, and like my work. Success!

So if you ever hesitate to hire a make-up artist on the assumption that we will transform you into an 80's nightmare...you have to know we won't...unless it is Halloween!
