My Prices: Explained

If you are viewing my website, checking out my portfolio, reading a little about myself and my family, where I went to school for make-up and why I am a make-up artist...you may also be viewing my "Pricing" page. A lot of people believe my pricing is extremely reasonable, especially for a fully licensed make-up artist from a reputable school (Blanche MacDonald). I thought I would explain myself to any of you wondering why I charge what I charge. WEBSITE

First off, I am a passionate make-up artist. I love it. Simply put, it is my favorite past time ever. Hands down. The ability to make someone feel pretty, beautiful, sexy, confident, playful, flirty, feminine or just feel good about themselves, is the reason I do what I do. I can't afford to buy everyone a puppy or kitten...but this gives me the same satisfaction.

I have been doing make-up since 2005 but my pricing has only raised minimally. My theory "I do make-up as a hobby. Yes, I get paid for it, but this is only to replenish my kit so I can continue to do make-up." I personally know how much weddings cost...and I would hate to hear a Bride had to cut costs and cancel her make-up artist or hair stylist due to budget. Your wedding day is the one day you should pamper yourself with no guilt, stress or worry. I hope my pricing helps out any Bride wanting a professional make-up application without charging an arm and a leg.

Many other make-up artists out there have very similar pricing and they must have the same views as I do. I also have no issues with artists charging more, as for some it is their only means of income. If make-up was all I did, of course, I would have to charge more. Luckily at the moment that doesn't need to happen.

I have been known to also work for free quite often, or in exchange for services. If I am working with a photographer then I feel as if I am paid just by having my name included when a photo of my work is posted to facebook. Advertisement for myself, which is awesome! Facebook has given me so much work since I created a page to show off my portfolio, meeting new people who are friends of friends of friends. The power of social networking is endless. So a shout out to Facebook for that (high five)!

It has been an amazing past 8 years of working as a freelance artist and I am excited for all the work to come. I will never get "bored" with make-up. I will never stop "improving". I will continue to make new friends through the art of make-up and I will expand my work more and more every year.

If you have any questions or wish to check with me for availability for your event please message me, I am happy to help!! :)
